Visit the home of one of the greatest historians of 20th Century Scandinavian Design, Professor Oda Noritsugu.

Located in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, Professor Oda has amassed a mind-blowing collection of Scandinavian Modernism, including rare forms and prototypes from Finn Juhl, Hans Wegner, Hans Bolling, just to name a few. For a man who claims not to be a collector, He has one of the world’s most remarkable assemblages of chairs (1,200, over half of them Danish) as well as a fine stash of tables (70), lighting fixtures (100), cabinets (50), cutlery (1,000 pieces) and pottery (2,500) in his home.

Professor Oda lives and works in Asahikawa and teaches design at a satellite campus of Tokai University there.
