Flos Tatou table lamp provides a wonderfully soft, diffuse light with a particularly emotional effect by means of a three-dimensional, honeycombed shade. In addition the special architecture of the shade from polycarbonate provides a sensational play of light and shadow, for what reason one could describe the shade as the external diffuser. Under the Flos Tatou shade an internal diffusor is located, which is made of injection printed opal polycarbonate. The structure and base of the Tatou table lamp is made of lacquered steel. Patricia Urquiola was inspired by a Japanese armour, which consists of metal buckles carefully united by tapes. "Tatou" means "armadillo" in French, what refers to the special surface of the Flos Tatou table lamp.
