The floor lamp Hope D66 by Luceplan is an exquisite design by the two Italian designers Francisco Gomez Paz and Paolo Rizzatto. The design lamp sparkles like the famous diamond, whose name it has. Hope D66 won the Red Dot Award in 2010, one of the most important international design awards.
The lamp body is composed of numerous thin polycarbonate Fresnel lenses that multiply the light from the light source and create a pleasant, glittery and party-like atmosphere, sprinkled with thousands of shards of light like the famous diamond which inspired the name: Hope. Fresnel-lenses have been developped in the nineteenth century by the French engineer Fresnel, and up to this day no better solution was found to increase the reach of the light emitted from lighthouses.
