By designing the Hope suspension lamp for Luceplan Francisco Gomez Paz and Paolo Rizzatto have designed a new form of the traditonal crstal chandelier by using sophisticated technology and contemporary materials. The lamp consists of numerous thin polycarbonate Fresnel lenses that multiply the light from the light source and create a pleasant, glittery and party-like atmosphere, sprinkled with thousands of shards of light like the famous diamond which inspired the name: Hope. Fresnel-lenses have been developped in the nineteenth century by the French engineer Fresnel, and up to this day no better solution was found to increase the reach of the light emitted from lighthouses. The suspension lamp is available in different sizes, one of them is available with an alternative holder.* Please note that for dimming fluorescent tubes a 5 wire cable is needed between switch on the wall and lamp on the ceiling.
