Tom Dixon Melt Mini - Flowing design.
The suspension Melt Mini by Tom Dixon is the interesting result of a research on the decorative vacuum metallising. It offers an excellent lighting and an aesthetical beauty. When the suspension Tom Dixon is off, it has an impressive metallised surface which reflects its environment. The organic shape of the diffuser attracts the eye and has the appearance of a flowing congealed shape.
When one switches on the suspension Tom Dixon Melt, the light goes through the metallised surface and the previously cold looking light starts glowing as if its solid body would start melting. The diffuser takes on fantastic colours and the light radiates in all the directions. The inner life of Melt is revealed. This effect is especially impressive in the evening and in the dark. The inside of the light fixture does not appear clearly and the surface of Melt is even more spectacular. It looks like a photograph taken from the Hubble space telescope.
The Tom Dixon Melt Mini suspension lamp is made of blown polycarbonate. The light body has been vacuum metallised. The metallic structure as well as the ceiling rose have a surface matching the version. The cable is white. This extraordinary light is the result of a collaboration of the British designer with the design office FRONT from Sweden.
